Act 2: Path of the Spider is the second Act of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. Its comprised of two stages: 2-1 Midnight Assault and 2-2 Deceptive Alliance.
The night before, when old enemies fell before greater horrors.
Story[]
Midnight Assault[]
Kumori gets annoyed that the meeting between the Black Spider Clan leaders is taking too long. A ninja tells her to keep quiet and to not lower her guard. Kumori however finds it funny as she doesn't expect anyone to attack them at Black Spider Clan HQ. In that moment a Leaper shows up and kills the ninja. Kumori guesses she was wrong and decides to try and kill the enemies before the security system, while also heading to the top floor to protect the leader.
After dealing with lots of demons, Kumori reaches the top floor. As she doesn't see demons there, she is relieved that they haven't reached the top floor. She then reports to Kumo Obaba that fiends have invaded HQ, however they have been dealt with. Rhyvashi then opens a portal and steps out, noting that she didn't think it will be that easy to dispose of the Black Spider Clan's leader. Kumori takes Rhyvashi and manages to overpower her. Seeing her power, Rhyvashi is impressed and notes that she would be a good ally. Before leaving, Rhyvashi invites Kumori to meet the Demon Lord at the Kû no Tani if she wants to raise the clan from the ashes. Kumo Obaba praises Kumori as she did well. The Accountant believes that this alliance the demons are proposing is what they have been waiting for, however the Henchman isn't so sure, as the clan is still recovering from Genshin's failed attempt to control the demons. The Accountant mocks him, noting that because of such cowardice the clan remains weak, however the Henchman states that the Accountant doesn't know what true courage means.
Kumo Baba tells them to shut up. She tells Kumori that they will accept the invitation, however they will force the demons into submission. Kumo Obaba takes out the Tamashi Kunai, stating it is a sacred weapon that belonged to the Black Spider clan for generations. The kunai can trap the enemy soul and through spiritual connection, channel its power to the wielder. The Henchman believes it would be crazy to trap the Demon Lord, but Kumori is ready to do it.
Deceptive Alliance[]
Using the Spider's HQ underground tunnel network, Kumori heads to the rendezvouz point in Mount Fuji. When she reaches the point, Rhyvashi comments that she took her time to come, but before she can meet the Demon Lord, she must see if she is worthy. Rhyvashi then summons a horde of demons. After a tough fight, Kumori manages to defeat all the demons, but Rhyvashi then strikes her with lightning, weakening Kumori. Rhyvashi then tells the Demon Lord that Kumori is ready. Jagäzk then appears on the other side of the portal and notes that Kumori looks delicious. Kumori wonders what is happening as she came to strike a deal, but Jagäzk comments that it still amuses him that humans think they can be on the demons level and then reaches out through the portal and grabs Kumori.
Jagäzk orders Rhyvashi to gather and charge the three Energy Crystals, and also send out Deikrag and Obsidrae, as he wants the Veil completely open before the full moon.
Sometime later, the injured Kenji Mozu appears in front of the trapped Kumori, who explains the situation. Kenji wants to head back and warn everyone, but Kumori states that he won't be able to go anywhere with that wound, making him realize that he should have waited for Ryu. Kumori states that there may be a way out for them and asks Kenji to take her kunai and stab her. Kenji isn't sure why, but proceed to do it. As he stabs her with the Tamashi Kunai, he absorbs Kumori. Healed and with bursting energy, Kenji realizes that Kumori is now inside of him. Without loosing anymore time, he then quickly escapes.
