Act 3: Bladewalker is the third Act of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. It is comprised of five stages: 3-1 Entwined Fates, 3-2 A Perilous Descent, 3-3 Ancient Pirate Cave, 3-4 Into the Catacombs and 3-5 Construction Site. The last three stages of this act can be played in any order.
New blood to vanquish the evil our ancestors failed to conquer.
Story[]
Entwined Fates[]
Now fused together, Kenji and Kumori manage to escape the Kû no Tani, however Kenji feels ashamed having to fuse with a Black Spider ninja. Kumori asks him if he prefers to leave their clans on their own fates or to do this to help them out. That reassures Kenji's resolve and they proceed forward.
On their way, the two fight some demons and get the grasp of their new powers. Kenji is impressed by the power he gains from Kumori, but wonders if she is dead now, however Kumori tells him that she doesn't want to think about that right now.
A Perilous Descent[]
Kenji blames the Black Spider Clan for opening the portal, however Kumori explains they did not open it, only tried to profit from it, and the sooner they are done with their mission, the sooner they can get separated. While they descend Mount Fuji, they see that the demons have destroyed much of the military squads that were in the mountain. While descending a zipline, they get attacked by the Blue and Purple Demon Eels, but they manage to escape. A bit later however, Kenji and Kumori have to cross a lake. While they navigate through it, they end up attack again by the Demon Eels, however this time they can't escape and are forced to fight them. Kenji and Kumori manage to kill the eels, with both claiming that they could have done it alone.
The two then encounter Muramasa, who feels something is off with Kenji. Kumori then reveals herself and Kenji explains that they had to join forced. Muramasa understands the situation and states that it actually brings back memories as he had to deal with Obaba. Muramasa also states that he felt the veil opening and guesses they are after the Energy Crystals. Murasama explains that he and Obaba once worked together to prevent the Demon Lord coming into their world. They created a triangle seal using three Energy Crystals, after which Muramasa hid the crystals himself. The Crystal of Abysmal Knowledge is hidden in the secret catacombs of Odawara Castle, the Crystal of Command is in the Ancient Capital of Kamakura, and the Crystal of Twisted Paths is in a sea cave on Miura Coast. Muramasa wonders how the demons learned the crystals' locations, but tells Kenji to retrieve them before the demons.
Ancient Pirate Cave[]
Kenji and Kumori find the cave in question on Miura Coast. Kenji admits that he likes pirates and explains that Portuguese pirates used to hide here during the 17th century.
At the end of the cave, they encounter Obsidrae, who tells them that they are late as she already has the crystal. Kenji however states that he planned on killing her regardless if she had or not the crystal. Obsidrae states that she is amazed on how easily the humans find themselves in unwinnable situations. Obsidrae ends up being no challenge to the two, as they defeat her and take the crystal.
Into the Catacombs[]
Reaching Odawara Castle, Kenji is excited as he never imagined he would have to infiltrate a Feudal castle, and believes he can call himself a "proper" ninja after that.
On their way, they encounter Deikrag, who summons a horde of demons to attack them. Inside the castle, they again encounter Deikrag, who charges at them, however as they avoid the attack, he hits the wall and opens a path for them. Later on, they encounter him again in the catacombs, who slams the ground and causes them to run as the platforming starts to break. In the end, they find Deikrag in time, just as he got the crystal. As Kenji prepares to fight him, he is surprised that Deikrag doesn't say anything. After they defeat Deikrag, Kenji notes that there was little demonic about him and he fought like a true warrior, but Kumori tells him to not develop feelings for the demons.
Construction Site[]
Reaching Kamakura, Kenji is disappointed to see the whole area has turned into giant construction site. Kumori explains that the redevelopment project belongs to the Black Spider Clan, but they are bleeding money as they were forced to stop work due to an archeological discovery. Kenji then guesses that it must be related to the Crystal. While looking for the Crystal, they get attacked by Rhyvashi several times.
Eventually, Kenji and Kumori find a temple that was unburied from the excavation. Rhyvashi also show up and is surprised to see that Kumori managed to escape the Kû no Tani. Kumori wants to take on Rhyvashi, but Kenji assures her that he can feel her rage and that her struggles are now his struggles as well and they will both take on Rhyvashi. The two then defeat Rhyvashi and manage to obtain the crystal.
Epilogue[]
Having obtained all crystals, the two then head back to Muramasa's workshop. Kenji is surprised to see the CIA Agent there. The agent assures him that Muramasa is fine and tells him to give him the crystals as they will handle it from here. Kenji refuses to, however the Agent tells him that they cannot trust someone possessed by a Black Spider Clan ninja. Kenji and Kumori prepare to fight, however the Agent activates a device which stuns them.
