Act V: A Trap is the fifth Act of Ninja Gaiden. It takes place in the Temple of Darkness. It is comprised of four areas, Act 5-1: Prison of the Dead, Act 5-2: Cliff (Stage), Act 5-3: Outer Wall, and Act 5-4 Place of Red Execution.
Story[]
Act V[]
After getting dropped by Jaquio into the Prison of the Dead, Ryu has no choice but to run and slash his way back up there before it's too late. After breaking out of the prison, Ryu scales the outside cliffs holding the Temple of Darkness together, being careful not to fall. At the top, Ryu begins to climb the Nails of Lukifell that layer the Outer Wall of the temple.
Upon reaching the Place of Red Execution at the top, he is greeted by Bloody Malth, the leader of the Malice Four. Malth blocks Ryu's path and taunts him, saying he is no stronger than his father. Realizing that this is the guy who dueled with his father all the way back, Ryu battles Malth in life or death combat.
Epilogue[]
Ryu succeeds in his revenge and deals a fatal blow to Malth, sending him to the floor. When Ryu accuses Malth of killing his father, Malth confesses that his father is actually alive. Ryu angrily calls him a liar, but Malth says that if he proceeds further, he will reunite with his father, but it will be the last thing he sees. Although having completed his mission, an empty Ryu realizes that this is beyond his petty feelings, and he must press on to save the world.
