The Art of the Inazuma (百雷鎚の術; Hyakuraiduchi no Jutsu, "Art of One Hundred Thunder Hammers") is a Ninpo Art used by Ryu Hayabusa in the Ninja Gaiden series. It can be found in Ninja Gaiden during Chapter 10: The Aqueducts, after defeating the Electric Worm. In Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword it is given to you in Chapter 3 after waking Muramasa up.

Description[]

Ninja Gaiden[]

Allows Ryu to amplify his internal bioelectric current and blast it out to the surrounding area.

Plot[]

Ninja Gaiden Sigma[]

Ryu encounters a deadly creature known as the Inazuma Worm while exploring the Aqueducts under Tairon. This monster size worm is able to shock its victims with electricity before devouring them, however Ryu was too quick for the monster. Upon its death, Ryu discovered a scroll containing the Art of the Inazuma. After learning this Art, Ryu would be able to focus his ki to amplify his internal bio-electricity and discharge it around him, electrocuting all enemies in his vicinity. Ryu would master this art as he continued his mission, enabling him to surround himself in electricity as he charges up, before discharging immense lightning bolts.

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword[]

After repelling the Black Spider Ninja invasion on the Hayabusa village, Ryu heads back to his village to find Muramasa in a deep sleep. Yelling at the old man, Ryu wakes him up. After a conversation, Muramasa gives Ryu an Art of the Inazuma variation to destroy the obstructing boulders placed by the Black Spider clan. Unlike the previous variation Ryu learned, this style allowed Ryu more freedom to pick and choose his target. Enabling him to zap one enemy multiple times, instead of just once.

Advantages[]

  • Crowd control.
  • Hits multiple enemies.
  • Long Range.
  • Hits multiple times. (NGDS only)

Disadvantages[]

  • Waste if only used on one enemy.

Utilization[]

This ninpo is considered one of the best: it has a long range, does decent damage, and is able to hit multiple enemies. It is best used when surrounded by swarms of enemies but the nature of this ninpo allows it to be used in almost every situation.

Trivia[]

  • Ryu uses this ninpo to destroy boulders in Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword.
  • The lightning colour was changed to yellow in Sigma.
