This Soldier comes in his regular variant and his stronger White counterpart.

Techniques

• 5-Hit Combo: slashes five times. 4th hit Guard Breaks.
• Kick and Slash Combo: kicks two times, then slashes two times. 4th hit Guard Breaks. If last hit lands, usually follows up with Long-Range Throw.
• Slash and Kick Combo: jump-slashes, slashes vertically, horizontally and kicks. 1st and 4th hits Guard Breaks. If last hit lands, usually follows up with Long-Range Throw.
• Long-Range Throw: jumps at Hayabusa's neck and slashes him in the face.
• Short-Range Throw: kicks him off his feet and stabs him in the chest.
• Projectile Attack: tosses a Shuriken.
• Slide Combo: slide-hits Hayabusa, slashes upward and kicks mid-air. 1st and 3rd Hit Guard Breaks. If last hit lands, usually follows up with Long-Range Throw.
• Kamikaze Throw: once dismembered, dives at Hayabusa to grab him and explodes. (Razor's Edge only)

Throw Techniques cannot be blocked, unless stated otherwise.
Red Techniques can be countered with Steel on Bone in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.

Strategy

• In crowded battle, give this acrobatic Soldier priority before most other foes, as their Shuriken not only add up damage quickly, but they continuously stop Hayabusa in his tracks for both ground and aerial techniques.

Ninja Gaiden 3

• Aim your jump at him using Wind Run (Quick Attack + Jump) and on his head with Wind Path (While jumping over an enemy — Jump) to attack him from above with a Flying Swallow (While jumping forward — Strong Attack) for an Instant Kill. Then finish him off as he's crawling around on the ground with an Obliteration Technique (Close to a Near-Death Enemy — Strong Attack) to gain a substantial amount of Ki.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge

• With the Dragon Sword, use long combo strings with heavy forward momentum like Gleaming Dragon Ring Slash (Quick, Quick, Forward Quick, Quick, Quick, Strong Attack) to roll-catch him and keep him locked in place. Then finish him of with an Obliteration Technique (Near a wounded enemy — Strong Attack) if dismembered; if he's simply bloody, launch an Izuna Drop (Quick, Strong, Quick, Quick, Quick, Strong Attack).
• Let either his Kick and Slash Combo or Slash and Kick Combo Guard Breaks you to trigger his Long-Range Throw follow-up, then Slide (Left Analog Stick + Block) away to dodge and punish it with Steel on Bone (Strong Attack). Then chain it on nearby enemies with another Strong Attack.
• Alternatively, bait a Powerful Attack with the Meditation Ninja Skill to initiate the Steel on Bone Combo Kill.

Notes

• In Ninja Gaiden 3 and on the Ultimate Ninja difficulty of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, you may be prompted to press Strong Attack rapidly to prevent the Assassin from repelling Steel on Bone, which will complete the technique, but also put a stop to the Combo Kill chain.
