Chapter 3: Phantom Pleasure Quarter is the third chapter of Ninja Gaiden 4. The chapter takes place in Sky City Tokyo.
Synopsis[]
With all the pylon structures destroyed, Yakumo heads to a decaying sky-high pleasure district in search of the Dark Dragon seal. What awaits him in the once lively red-light district?
Story[]
With the three pylons destroyed, Yakumo heads towards the Dark Dragon shrine. Unexpectedly, he ends up running on the daemon protecting the shrine, Kitsune Courtesan. While Seori and the rest are surprised he found the daemon so quick, Yakumo proceeds and manages to defeat the daemon. However proceeding on, he sees the daemon again and realizes its not yet dead. The daemon then closes some paths, forcing Yakumo to find another way.
While Yakumo looks for another path, Seori explains that ritual weapons were used as crux of each shrine to seal away the Dark Dragon. Removing the weapon from the altar, will brake the seal. Misaki then wonders if that is all, then why Seori needs to be there as well, and that anyone could then remove the weapons. Seori then explains precisely because of that, she placed a curse on each ritual weapon to make sure they can't be removed, so without her they can't break the seal.
Reaching the shrine, Seori informs Yakumo that he is standing right on top of it. Kitsune Courtesan then appears and engages Yakumo in combat, however this time he manages to really defeat her and breaks the floor with her, falling down to the seal. Seori and Misaki then show up, and Seori removes the curse. Yakumo the pulls out the weapon and breaks the seal, releasing the sealed part of the Dark Dragon back to its husk. Seori then warns Yakumo to watch his back, as now that they broke the first seal, he is a wanted criminal.

- Purgatory Gate: At the start of the stage, proceed forward and you will have your first encounter. Right after that you will have to use the Flying Bird Technique to climb up. Once on top, you will see a bridge ahead with a raven left of it. Instead, turn around and proceed until the dead end to find a Purgatory Gate.
- Phantasmal Herb: After the Kitsune Courtesan closes a second door for Yakumo, it will force you go right. In that next room, you will fight your first Burabura lantern daemons. Once defeated, look at the right wall and you will see a small alley with a box containing the herb.
- Gourdy: After the Kitsune Courtesan closes a second door for Yakumo, it will force you go right. Proceed on and you will go up an yellow ladder. A bit further you will find Tyran and Umi's shops in a corner. From this area, to proceed you need to wall run an yellow wall. However, instead jump down and proceed going only forward. You will reach a small room with a lot of junk, and a Gourdy in the right corner.

- Find the rotting charm in Sky City Tokyo: After the encounter with Kitsune Courtesan, proceed on and you will see it again. Approaching her, will make her close the door and force you go left. In this zone on the left, you will fight an Oni, and need to proceed upstairs. As you get upstairs, look on your right and there will be some containers. The accessory is inside a box behind the containers.
- Execute the food thief: Same area as the rotting charm, instead of going up the stairs, proceed down right and then there will be a door on the left. Follow the path until the dead end to find Oniwaka. Defeat him and he will run away.
- Execute the renegade D.D.O. soldiers: After the Kitsune Courtesan closes a second door for Yakumo, it will force you go right. Proceed on and you will go up an yellow ladder. A bit further you will find Tyran and Umi's shops in a corner. From this area, to proceed you need to wall run an yellow wall. However, instead jump down and in the first room, turn right. At the end, you will find some DDO soldiers.
