Name | Crystal Lake |
Debut | Ninja Gaiden |
Crystal Lake is the location of Act 3-1 in Ninja Gaiden. Walter Smith has his home here, and Ryu traverses this area in giving chase to the thief who stole the Shadow statue.
At the end of Crystal Lake, is the location of Act 3-2, Lizard Mountain.
Ninja Gaiden[]
Crystal Lake is a short level, with only one room, but there is a good number of small platforms that can make traversal quite tricky. To make matters more interesting, it also introduces the infamous Birds here. The item containers in this room take the form of moths.
Enemies[]
Valuable Pickups:[]
- Time Freeze
- Fourth moth, which is hovering over a pit. If Ryu gets it in time, the second Bird will remain out of reach and it stops some enemies from spawning.
- Shuriken
- Right after the Time Freeze.
- Art of Flying Firewheel
- There is an upper scaffolding, and the moth hangs right at the end of it. Ryu will have to jump to these upper platforms from the right so he can reach it with the higher altitude.
- Health Potion
- The final set of platforms before the end has one moth over it.
Trivia[]
- This level is named after a multitude of lakes in North America with the same name, but most prominently the city, Crystal Lake, Illinois. It is most prominent because Act 1-1 took place in Galesburg, also a real city in Illinois.
- The music in the stage, titled "Swift Ninja", is also used in cutscenes where Ryu is rushing to Smith's house, both before and after the Act 3 levels take place.
