The Dog is an enemy in Ninja Gaiden.

Introduced in Act 1-1, Dogs are very fast enemies, either coming up from behind Ryu or rushing at him from straight ahead. They can be difficult to react to thanks to their speed. However, they only deal 1 point of damage on contact, and are easily defeated in one hit by any attack.
Trivia[]
- In the original NES game, the enemy's design looks more humanoid than dog-like in being very muscular, which was kept in the SNES trilogy.
- However, in the PC Engine version, the design was changed to look exactly like a large terrier.
