The Fiend Claw Shadoh (魔神クロウシャドウ, Demon-God Claw Shadow) is an Enemy in Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack: Volume 2, Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus.

Appearance[]

A variety of Shadow Demon, Claw Shadows are stout creatures with a humanoid anatomical shape, blended with grotesque, organic appendages. Their flesh is pallid with red, exposed musculature in some areas, giving the demon a semi-decayed, almost necrotic aesthetic. It has a hooded, cowl-like head with a gaping, fanged-mouth clutching a large, yellow-red eye. The chest and back muscles are exaggerated and defined; its legs are sharp, stilt-like appendages, with studded bands wrapped below the knees; and the arms terminate in massive, fleshy claws. In addition to the eyeball embedded in its mouth, four more eyes are in the demon's shoulders and knees.

Attack Data[]

Since the Claw Shadow can easily break Ryu's guard, the basic approach is to aim for a combo after evading their attacks with Reverse Wind. Since the sliding throw is often performed twice in a row, it is recommended to cancel with Reverse Wind immediately after guarding the first one.

History[]

Ninja Gaiden[]

Claw Shadows begin appearing in the city of Tairon during the Dark Dragon Blade Incident, only to be put down by Ryu Hayabusa, descendant of the Dragon Linage.

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword[]

Like Ninja Gaiden, Claw Shadows only appear in the later chapters of the game, often appearing alongside Red Bast Fiends as they try to kill Ryu Hayabusa. In Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, the Fiends are trying to reignite the Age of the Fiends, an era where they ruled over the human world.
