The Forest of Shadows (影の森) is the forest that conceals the Village of the Hayabusa Ninja. A sacred space hidden in the shadows of Mt. Fuji, the Forest is grown on the paths of the Earth Dragons and is considered sacred ground. The Hayabusa would often come into these woods in order to hone their formidable skills to superhuman levels.
Over the centuries these sacred grounds were sought out by the Fiends and other malign spiritual beings, only to be slain and sealed by the Dragon Lineage warriors and their modern descendants, the Hayabusa Ninja Clan. The forest is also home to many spiritual animals, one of course being the Peregrine Falcon, the Hayabusa clan's tribal animal spirit, and the Sea Swallow; which ironically is the codename chosen by American CIA Analyst Irene Lew
