The Giant Buddha Statue: Hatensoku (地蜘蛛大仏 破天則, Jigumo daibutsu Haten-soku^?, lit. "Heaven's Law Defying Black Spider Giant Buddha) is a boss in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, appearing in Chapter 1.

Battles

The Buddha Statue is faced twice in Chapter 1 in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. The first conflict is where the Demo Version ends. In the Full Version, you get the Lunar Staff after that battle. The second and final Story Mode Battle is at the end of Chapter 1, after the Shadow Ninja Rasetsu Boss. It is also the boss of the Team Mission Warrior 01(Which is in the arena of the first Story Mode encounter) and there are 2 Buddha Statues in the first Ultimate Ninja 03 Wave(Which are in the arena of the second Story Mode encounter).

Powers & Abilities

• Arm Attacks: The Buddha Statue has a continuous arm slam move, an arm swipe move and a throw.
• Ground Eruptions: The Buddha Statue is able to erupt energy from the ground near Ryu. It does this move several times in a row.
• Energy Laser: After a few seconds of charging, the Buddha Statue is able to create a line of energy in front of Ryu's path.

Trivia

• Judging by its appearance, the statue seems to be a representation of a Bodhisattva who, unlike Buddhas, tend to be heavily ornate.
• The Buddha Statue made it's appearance in Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate as a special Danger Zone in the Sky City Tokyo stage.
