The Hayabusa Ninja (隼流忍者 Hayabusa-ryu Ninja Lit, Hayabusa Style Ninja) are the men and women belonging to the Hayabusa Ninja clan in the Ninja Gaiden series.
History[]
The Hayabusa Ninja clan was founded by the Dragon Ninja of the medieval period, who had allied themselves with the Hayabusa spirit. This clan had men and women, ready to die in their mission to assist the Dragon Ninja and Shrine Maidens in their duty to safeguard the ancient relics and face the malicious supernatural forces who plagued the world, these men and women are the Hayabusa Ninjas.
With the clan established, they settled in the area of Aokigahara, a haunted forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, founding the Hayabusa Village.
Unlike the larger ninja clans such as the Black Spider and Mugen Tenshin clans, the Hayabusa Ninjas are few in numbers.
Plot[]
Ninja Gaiden Sigma[]
Many Hayabusa Ninja fell during the fiendish assault by Doku and his Samurai army. Most of surviving Hayabusa Ninja including Momiji were away from the village at the time of this incident. The survivors would later rebuild the village after this attack.
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword[]
Six months later the village is invaded again by the Black Spider Ninja clan. With the aid of Ryu Hayabusa, the Hayabusa Ninjas were able to repel the invasion.
The Vampire War[]
Another six months later, a wounded Joe Hayabusa returns to the village with his son Ryu, after killing the fiendish Vampire Lord. Many of the Hayabusa Ninja await outside the village hospital building in anticipation, as Ryu leaves exits and informs them of Joe's condition.
The other returning Hayabusa ninja spies then inform Momiji and Ryu of the Black Spider clan's presence in Tokyo. Prompting Ryu to leave his village to investigate.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma[]
The Black Spider Clan led by Genshin return to invade the village. Greatly outnumbered and without aid from Ryu; the Hayabusa Ninjas, Momiji, Ayane and Joe hold off the invading Black Spider ninjas until Ryu arrives and purges his village of all Black Spider ninjas. It is unknown how many Hayabusa Ninja perished in this incident.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge[]
The Hayabusa Ninja are seen training and greeting Ryu Hayabusa after he arrives at the Hayabusa Village.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z[]
Prior to the events of the game, Yaiba Kamikaze killed many Hayabusa Ninja, including Keiko's brothers. Later, his killing of Hayabusa Ninja brings the attention of Ryu Hayabusa, spelling his doom.
Trivia[]
- Ryu wears the Hayabusa Ninja gi outfit at the beginning of Ninja Gaiden before adopting the Legendary Black Falcon outfit.
