The Heavy Soldier (Jetpack) is an Enemy in Ninja Gaiden 3 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.

Overview

This Soldier comes in his regular variant and his Rocket Launcher wielding counterpart.

Appearance

• Day 2

Techniques

• Flamethrower Attack: uses the flames of his jetpack as a flamethrower, vertically in air and horizontally on land. Unblockable.
• Three-hit Combo: swings his Dual Light Batons three times. Final hit Guard Breaks. Jetpack destroyed only.
• Short-range Throw: grabs Hayabusa at close quarters. Jetpack destroyed only.
• Projectile Attack:
  • Fires a stream of bullets from his Machine Gun.
  • Fires a missile from his Rocket Launcher.
• Kamikaze Throw: once dismembered, dives at Hayabusa to grab him and explodes. (Razor's Edge only)

Throw Techniques cannot be blocked, unless stated otherwise.
Red Techniques can be countered with Steel on Bone in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.

Strategy

• Since they always attack in groups and are dangerous at both close and long ranges, prioritize taking them out as soon as they appear, but be careful not to destroy their jetpacks while they hover over stable ground, or they'll become bloody Heavy Soldiers upon landing.

Ninja Gaiden 3

• Jump into the air and press Left Bumper to aim with your Bow. Then press down Right Analog stick to stop the flow of time and fire at one of their jets to shoot them down instantly.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge

• With Falcon's Eye unlocked, follow the aforementioned strategy, but beware this Ninja Skill drains your Ki.
• Alternatively, this time-stopping ability can be used on land at no cost.
