Kenji Mozu (ケンジ・モズ) is a young shinobi from the Hayabusa Village and a pupil of Ryu. He is one of the two protagonists of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, alongside Kumori of the Black Spider Ninja Clan whom he physically fuses with.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound[]
At the Hayabusa Village, Ryu Hayabusa trains with Kenji Mozu, advising him to find his inner peace. Ryu prepares a special course for Kenji to train. Along the path, he also teaches him various maneuvers and techniques. At the end of the course, the two have a spar duel, which Kenji loses. After the duel, the Shrine Maiden comes and informs them that the village is under attack by demons. Ryu is ready to head out, however he receives a letter from his father and needs to go to America. Kenji then tells Ryu to head to go and leave the demons to him. Ryu agrees and leaves, while Kenji heads to fight the demons.
Kenji heads out in the Hayabusa Village and starts killing demons. Eventually he encounters Gurthka, who is surprised that Kenji didn't die from his roar. As they fight, Gurthka is impressed by Kenji's abilities, but as he wasted too much time, he tells him that he must leave and they will finish the fight some other time.
Kenji prepares to leave the village, but is stopped by the Shrine Maiden, who asks him to stay until Ryu return back. However, Kenji insists that he must go as he must defeat the demons and tells the Shrine Maiden to organize and take care of the survivors.
Kenji heads into Mount Fuji chasing the demons. He encounters Muramasa who realizes that he is leaving the village to chase the demons and tells him that if he brings him Golden Scarabs he will improve his equipment.
Proceeding on, Kenji finds a CIA base and meets an CIA Agent, who seeing Kenji's skill realizes he isn't Ryu, but is still a Hayabusa ninja. He explains that his agency has been monitoring the Kû no Tani since Genshin took the Blade of the Archfiend. However, they weren't expecting demons and were overwhelmed. The CIA Agent tells Kenji that someone is trying to free the Demon Lord. Kenji then tells him to leave it to him as they won't be able to handle it.
Kenji finds Gurthka, who notes that "duty" is one of his favorite human weaknesses and promises to grant Kenji a honorouble death. However, Kenji manages to defeat Gurthka. He asks him where the Demon Lord is, however Gurthka laughs, saying that somehow he defeated him, however he is the least powerful of the Four Guardians that serve the Demon Lord. As a last resort, Gurthka then explodes seriously injuring Kenji. Losing blood, Kenji sees a Black Spider Ninja, Kumori, guessing she is behind all of this, however she tells him that he is clueless and they both have been lured here. After Kumori explains how she ended up there and what the demons are plotting, Kenji wants to head back and warn everyone, but Kumori states that he won't be able to go anywhere with that wound, making him realize that he should have waited for Ryu. Kumori states that there may be a way out for them and asks Kenji to take her kunai and stab her. Kenji isn't sure why, but proceed to do it. As he stabs her with the Tamashi Kunai, he absorbs Kumori. Healed and with bursting energy, Kenji realizes that Kumori is now inside of him. He then quickly escapes.
Now fused together, Kenji and Kumori manage to escape the Kû no Tani, however Kenji feels ashamed having to fuse with a Black Spider ninja. Kumori asks him if he prefers to have left their clans on their own fates or do this to help them out. That reassures Kenji's resolve and they proceed forward. On their way, the two fight some demons and get the grasp of their new powers. Kenji is impressed by the power he gains from Kumori, but wonders if she is dead now, however Kumori tells him that she doesn't want to think about that right now.

- During the 3-3 Ancient Pirate Cave level, Kenji admits to Kumori he "likes pirates a bit". This line references the "Pirates versus Ninjas" meme, which appeared in Nioh, one of Team Ninja's other games, in the level "An Ominous Cavern", where a developer-programmed Revenant is named "Ninjas hate Pirates".
