Kurobo is a tengu-like daemon in Ninja Gaiden 4. Kurobo is a boss who guards the second Dark Dragon shrine in Fuuhaku Sanctum. Yakumo faces him in Chapter 7: Altar of the Mountain God. Ryu faces and subdues him in Chapter 17: Howling Ravine, while Seori makes him the warden of the shrine.

A daemon worshipped as the god of raging winds, enshrined at Fuuhaku Sanctum, now subdued by Seori to guard one of the Dark Dragon shrines.
The steep terrain and strong winds near the sanctum have made it known as a harsh region since ancient times. ear of the destructive winds gradually evolve into respect, eventually giving rise to the belief that the wind itself was the deity presiding over the region. Gaining the reverence of so many humans and tengu caused the storms to materialize into a physical form, resulting in the "god" otherwise known as Fuuhaku-Tengai Kurobo.
Due to the mix of faith from both humans and tengu, it can manifest into two animal-like forms: a ferocious dog and a soaring bird. Its ability to manipulate the wind and create tornadoes is enough to inspire worship, and those who offend it must prostrate themselves and pray for forgiveness lest they incur its divine wrath.

Kurobo has been living in Fuuhaku Sanctum and ruling it as the God of Winds. Needing a powerful being as a warden, Ryu and Seori head subdue him. As Ryu finds him, he manages to defeat him, allowing Seori to cast a spell on him and make him the warden of the shrine.
Years later, when Seori and Yakumo team up to break the Dark Dragon seal and purify it, Yakumo heads to break the second seal guarded by Kurobo. On his way through the Fuuhaku Sanctum, Yakumo destroys some statues that worship the tengu. That angers Kurobo, who keeps sending strong gust of winds at Yakumo, obstructing his path and causing him to take detours. Eventually Yakumo reaches the top of the sanctum, where he finds Kurobo. Yakumo then manages to defeat Kurobo and together with Seori, they break the second Dark Dragon seal.
