Missions

Missions are special objectives in Ninja Gaiden 4. They are accepted and reported from a DarkNest Terminal, and are contracts sent through private channels by various parties and serve as the main income source for the Raven Clan. Mission objectives can include asset delivery, investigation, and assassination.

New missions are automatically unlocked as you progress and complete other missions.

After completing the main story, you will unlocks Tally items -- a certificate that proves your merit as a ninja. There are three Tally items that can be purchased from a DarkNest Terminal in NewGame+/Chapter Select. Each costs 20000 NinjaCoin and unlock additional Missions. All Missions have to be completed with Yakumo, except he two Missions you get while playing with Ryu.

Missions List[]

Execute the D.D.O. distribution officers[]

Description: Tokyo City's flow of commodities has largely been taken over by the Divine Dragon Order. After repeated negotiations, we've finally talked our way into allowing mid-sized companies like ours access to this distribution network. However, a group of sleazy D.D.O. officers is taking advantage of this situation and demanded a hefty bribe. We refused, and ended up cut off from the network entirely. Things are looking dire for us, unless something can be done about those officers.

How to Complete: While progressing in Chapter 1, the screen will turn black and then there will be purple flames. Seori will comment that the daemons found Yakumo. Proceed a bit and once outside, Yakumo will focus on a broken head statue, wondering what happened. From there, turn right and proceed following the path. You will end up on a dead end where you will need to kill three D.D.O. Officers.

On Completion: You've taken care of the offending officers, which means our company can finally regain access to the distribution channels and resume business as usual. The amount they were trying to charge us was downright criminal. Your services have been a far more efficient use of our funds. Your have my thanks.

Capture 1 Gourdy[]

  • Target Area: All Areas
  • Reward: 2000 NinjaCoin
  • Contractor: Professor U

Description: Question: have you ever seen a walking gourd before? If so, you've most likely encountered the creature commonly referred to as a gourdy. Their bodies are said to secrete a special kind of oil that can be used as fuel, making them highly sought after by the Divine Dragon Order. I request that you capture one of these gourdies so that I might research it for more in-depth analysis.

How to Complete: The first Gourdy you can encounter is in Chapter 1. Right after learning Caddis Wire and using it two times, after the swing turn left and you will see it in the dead end.

On Completion: The gourdy sample arrived safe and sound. I can't imagine it was easy to find such a rare creature. Splendid work! I plan to extract the oil from its epidermal tissue and study its chemical composition. If the results prove fruitful, I may request your services again in the future.

Defeat 25 D.D.O. Soldiers[]

  • Target Area: All Areas
  • Reward: 2000 NinjaCoin; Crimson Blood Pellets x1
  • Contractor: A Concerned Citizen of Tokyo

Description: The D.D.O. serves as the protectors of Tokyo in this perilous time, and they indeed did well to restore order. However, they have since begun abusing their authority, sowing seeds of discontent among the populace. Their organization is rampant with corruption, and their rapid pace of recruitment has made them unable to keep their troops in line. As a concerned citizen, I cannot turn a blind eye to this strain on our fair city of Tokyo. I hope you will support our movement by enacting justice upon them.

How to Complete: Simply defeat 25 D.D.O. soldiers. They are commonly found in several chapters, starting from Chapter 1.

On Completion: Thank you for your cooperation. I believe we've succeeded in sending our message loud and clear: the D.D.O. is nothing more than a provisional governing body, and any attempt to cross this line will be met with severe consequences. We will continue to do our part to make a fair and prosperous Tokyo for all.

Find the data chip in Sky City Tokyo[]

Description: The D.D.O. may have thinned our numbers, but the Yanagioh Association still stands strong. Some consider us an "organized crime syndicate" but we're sworn to fight for the people of Tokyo by whatever means we can. To help us stay out of sight and keep our humanitarian ventures off the radar, I want you to retrieve a certain data chip containing detailed information on the D.D.O.'s patrol routes.

How to Complete: Towards the later end of Chapter 1, you will learn how to use Caddis Wire to pull yourself towards a wall or platform. Right after that, you will come to a section with multiple enemies and a drone. In that area, on the main path on the left side, you will find three boxes. The data chip will be next to the three boxes on their left.

On Completion: Thank you for retrieving the datachip. It contained even more valuable intel than we'd hoped for. So many innocents continue to suffer under the harsh regulations of the D.D.O... We'll do whatever it takes to protect our people, and we're prepared to be the necessary evil that will save this city. Your people can relate, I'm sure. Hope I can work with you again someday.

Uses Takeminakata to defeat 50 enemies[]

Description: Hey, kid. I got a special mission, just for you: takedown some hostiles with Takeminakata. The Raven Clan's signature combat style utilizes twin blades or a tachi, and I want some of your data to help me teach the young ones. Take down whoever you like. Just make sure you use Takeminakata.

How to Complete: Simply defeat any 50 enemies with the Takeminakata.

On Completion: Good work. That data is just what I was looking for. Seeing how the next head of the Raven Clan fights will give the little ones something to shoot for. Anyone who doesn't get fired up looking at this isn't meant to be a ninja... But I'm getting off track. Thanks, kid. Sending the reward your way.

Capture 5 Gourdies[]

  • Target Area: All Areas
  • Reward: 4000 NinjaCoin; Life Elixir x2
  • Contractor: Professor U

Description: From my research into the gourdy sample, I've discovered that the extracted oil can serve as a highly efficient fuel source, so much so that if utilized properly it could revolutionize technology as we know it! The Divine Dragon Order must not be allowed to monopolize this scientific breakthrough. To help me complete my research please secure some additional gourdy samples.

How to Complete: You will need to find and capture 4 more Gourdies.

On Completion: Thank you for the additional gourdy samples. You are a true ally to the scientific community. I have found the extraction of the gourdies' oil poses no danger to their well-being, perhaps due to their otherworldly origins. I understand some eccentrics believe these creatures bring good luck, even going as far as to consider them cute... I don't know where you stand on this, but I will return the gourdies to you to do with as you please once I am finished with them.

Execute the D.D.O. bodyguards[]

  • Target Area: Sky City Tokyo
  • Reward: 3500 NinjaCoin
  • Contractor: Secretary of an Anonymous Party

Description: Hello . I am a secretary working for a certain politician. I have been informed that an opponent of my employer has been negotiating to sell a certain plot of land to the Divine Dragon Order. This land houses a public marketplace and is an important landmark to the people of Tokyo. This deal must be stopped. We have attempted talks with this political opponent, but they have all fallen through. We have little choice and no time to spare. Please eliminate the D.D.O. soldiers acting as his bodyguards.

How to Complete: After a longer rail session in Chapter 2: Haunted District, you will end up on a broken bridge with a large closed door at the end. After defeating the enemies, the door will open and there will be a DarkNest Terminal and Tyran behind it. There you will have to use the Flying Bird technique to climb up. As soon as you climb up, you will see a door in front, ignore it and turn around. In a small room there will be a smaller door. Go through it and follow the path. At the end, you will find a group of soldiers you need to kill.

On Completion: You've done a great service eliminating those bodyguards and allowing me to appropriately deal with the rival candidates. We've secured order amongst the people, and my employer is most pleased with the results. With our rival now out of the picture, our victory in the upcoming election is all but assured. We will negotiate with the D.D.O. to find a more suitable use for the land in question.

Execute the otherworldly invaders[]

  • Target Area: Sky City Tokyo
  • Reward: 4500 NinjaCoin
  • Contractor: Shindou the Prophet

Description: Otherworld gate appear. Hurt humans' world. Unless opposed, humans extinct. Destroy gate. Destroy gate. Destroy gate. Destroy gate. Destroy gate. Destroy gate. Destroy gate. How to Complete: NewGame+. While you can pick the mission early on, you can only complete it during your NewGame+ as it requires the gliding ability. During Chapter 2: Haunted District, you will reach a bridge with drones and many D.D.O. Soldiers. After that, the large doors will open and there will be Umi and Tyran's shops. Use the Flying Bird Flip to reach the top and then turn around, go abit ahead and enter the left room. Then open the small door and continue following the path. This will lead to some D.D.O. Soldiers that were part of "Execute the D.D.O. bodyguards" mission. Now instead of opening the door on the right and going down the ladder, you will see a wind blowing up behind the soldiers upstairs. Use the glider there to reach the top. Open the gate and you will encounter some Van Gelfs and Flare Shadows.

On Completion: Humans' world will not be saved. Somebody, end-time will come. So I have seen. I see it.

Execute the renegade D.D.O. soldiers[]

Description: Assassinate the Divine Dragon Order soldiers at the specified location. You will be rewarded handsomely for your efforts.

How to Complete: In Chapter 3: Phantom Pleasure Quarter, after the Kitsune Courtesan closes a second door for Yakumo, it will force you go right. Proceed on and you will go up an yellow ladder. A bit further you will find Tyran and Umi's shops in a corner. From this area, to proceed you need to wall run an yellow wall. However, instead jump down and in the first room, turn right. At the end, you will find some DDO soldiers.

On Completion: I have confirmed the deaths of the targets, and the erasure of their identification details. You will be sent your reward, as detailed in our contract. Order in Tokyo must be maintained.

Defeat 10 Burabura lantern daemons[]

Description: Special mission, kid. No better way to hone your skills than fighting something that isn't human, and it looks like we're spoiled for choice. For starters, go kill some of those lantern monsters. They seem tricky, but you can make short work of them with your Bloodraven Form. be careful out there.

How to Complete: Simply defeat 10 Burabura lantern daemons. They are commonly found during Chapter 3: Phantom Pleasure Quarter.

On Completion: Nice work, handling those lantern monsters. They're harder to predict than a human opponent, right? And those damn explosions... You can't let your guard down. Anyway, you came out on top and became a stronger fighter in the process. Plus, it looks like I can count on you to handle missions that are a pain in the ass for me. Here's your share of he reward. Keep up the fight, kid.

Find the rotting charm in Sky City Tokyo[]

Description: Please, there's something I want you to find. A charm from my sister. I lost it... I don't even know how I could apologize to her. Please, find the charm...

How to Complete: In Chapter 3: Phantom Pleasure Quarter, after the encounter with Kitsune Courtesan, proceed on and you will see it again. Approaching her, will make her close the door and force you go left. In this zone on the left, you will fight an Oni, and need to proceed upstairs. As you get upstairs, look on your right and there will be some containers. The accessory is inside a box behind the containers.

On Completion: Thanks for finding my charm. This makes me so happy... I can still remember the day my sister gave it to me so clearly. Now I can rest eas knowing it's safe and sound. Thanks again, kind soul!

Execute the food thief[]

Description: We've got a food thief on our hands... I dunno if his stomach is bottomless or what, but the amount he's taken is inhuman. I tried to catch him, but he's a quick son of a gun. Plus he had a katana, and I sure as hell don't wanna get killed over a couple scraps. Sky City Tokyo is low on food and I'm sure he's hungry, so I'm almost sorry to do it, but... I'm putting a bounty on his head.

How to Complete: In Chapter 3: Phantom Pleasure Quarter, after the encounter with Kitsune Courtesan, proceed on and you will see it again. Approaching her, will make her close the door and force you go left. In this zone on the left, you will fight an Oni, and need to proceed upstairs. However instead of going up the stairs, proceed down right and then there will be a door on the left. Follow the path until the dead end to find Oniwaka. Defeat him and he will run away.

On Completion: You took care of the food thief? Thanks, big help. You see what I mean by how quick he is? He looks strong enough, so he doesn't need to steal from us... If only he helped us out instead, then I'd be happy to give him a little food as payment. What times we live in, huh?

Execute the tengu leaders[]

Description: The cult of the tengu was born from pure malevolence! Suggesting that those creatures are capable of faith at all is an insult. Whoever is willing to heed this request, head to Fuuhaku Sanctum! The divines have revealed to me that the leaders of the tengu make their home there. Destroy the tengu and purge the world of their vile cult!

How to Complete: In Chapter 4: Pilgrim's Windswept Path, you will reach an Umi's shop that will give you the Dragonfly Glider and you need to use it to cross the gap. Instead, turn right and keep going that path. After using a fallen tree as a bridge and opening a door, you will find three Great Tengu.

On Completion: Thanks for taking care of those tengu bastards! Now, perhaps, I can rest easy. A word of warning: those tengu take their heretical religion seriously, and they say they'll hunt any who get in their way to hell and back. Be careful out there, is all I'm saying!

Use Yatousen to defeat 50 daemons[]

  • Target Area: All Areas
  • Reward: 4000 NinjaCoin, Senjin War Brew x1
  • Contractor: Vigilante of the Mountains

Description: There has been a sudden increase of unidentified abomination sightings lately, and the reports won't stop coming in. Not sure what the cause of this is, but all I know is these creatures are bound to start hurting people. Now this is just a hunch, but if they share the same instincts with normal living creatures, displaying some of their corpses might just scare them away. Skewer some of them before they reach a residential district!

How to Complete: Simply defeat 50 daemons.

On Completion: Thank you. I can't say for sure it's because of the corpses we displayed, but the sightings near our village have decreased dramatically. That said, I'm still not sure what they are... At first I assumed it was some kind of hallucination, but the bodies they leave behind prove they're real. There is so much about our world we do not know...

Find the secret supplies in Fuuhaku Sanctum[]

Description: Contacting all units via the DarkNest. Our unit was tasked with the acquisition of supplies, but we're suffered a casualty. This mission is labeled top priority, so we humbly request another unit take over its completion. Contact immediately if you can assist.

How to Complete: In Chapter 4: Pilgrim's Windswept Path, after using the Dragonfly Glider for a second time, it will drop you in a crash site area with several enemies. After you defeat them, search the green glowing chest to obtain the Secret Supplies.

On Completion: The supplies have arrived safe and sound. I didn't think you'd be the one to help us, Yakumo! Sorry to get you wrapped up in it. This mission was important to the future of the Raven Clan, and we should have been able to handle it ourselves. Thankfully, our injured one looks like he'll make a full recovery. Once he's better, he'll be back in the field on another mission.

Find the tengu offering in Fuuhaku Sanctum[]

Description: My wife's ill. It's not looking good. The medicine she needs is expensive and we can't even find anyone who has it, so our only option is prayer. We need an offering, and the tengu are said to have the best, but I can't leave my wife. Can somebody collect one of their offerings in my stead?

How to Complete: In Chapter 5: Raging Valley, at the very end, you will face Sanzeon. After you defeat it, open the gate and look on its left side, to find the offering.

On Completion: Thank you for putting yourself in danger to retrieve the offering for us. I'm sorry to say... my wife didn't make it. But I was able to show her the charm before she passed, and she spent her final moments with the sweetest smile on her face... If she were still here, I'm sure she'd be giving you her thanks as well.

Defeat 20 Tengu[]

Description: Tengu worship is a cult dedicated to false idols! Those vile creatures have no piety. To any powerful warrior willing to heed this call, I beseech you, go to Fuuhaku Sanctum! Purge the tengu and strike this vulgar sect in its very heart!

How to Complete: Simply defeat 20 tengu. They are commonly found in Chapter 5.

On Completion: Good work killing those tengu sons of bitches! Finally, I can get some sleep. You should know, those things are serious about their faith. They chase down anyone who get in their way to hell and back. Keep one eye open is all I'm saying!

Execute the rampaging daemons[]

Description: I never asked for this role, but I'm in charge of guarding our little village. One night, I noticed weird lights all gathering in one place. They were yokai... Living lanterns and man-faced dogs. I barely made it away with my life, but they can't be left there. Root them out!

How to Complete: In Chapter 5: Raging Valley, at one point, Yakumo will reach a temple-like village and Umi will wonder what is it. From here, turn right and climb up the building. Go to its left back edge of the rooftop, and climb up again. You will see another building you can climb up, instead turn around and follow the path. After using the Flying Bird Flip, you will find a group of Burabura and Enenra daemons.

On Completion: Glad you killed those beasts for me. The neightbors get a bit jumpy when they see monsters around. And I'm no slouch in a fight, but against yokai? Even I'd have second thoughts. I'll reach out again if I see anything else.

Retrieve the heirloom knife in Fuuhaku Sanctum[]

Description: So, I was in the mountains around Fuuhaku Sanctum--it's off limits, I know, but I had my reasons--and wouldn't you believe it... Monsters! The scare they gave me even made me drop my knife... That thing's a prized family heirloom, and I can't just let it go!

How to Complete: In Chapter 5: Raging Valley, after the temple-like village, you will go through a series of flying sections. You will meet a new enemy, Tsukumo. As you encounter the fifth, it will be shooting at you from the other side, while you fight some Tengu. To proceed you also need to fly to the other side, but once there, turn left and head for the Tsukumo. The heirloom knife is behind him on the right.

On Completion: You found the knife! Oh, thank you! It was passed down to me from my dear old grandpappy, and it's perfect for hunting rabbits and deer. These woods are restricted, which makes them great for hunting, heh. And now that I got the knife back, maybe I'll do some more of it.

Execute the troublemaker[]

Description: I don't know where he came from, but some troublemaker has taken up residence near Fuuhaku Sanctum. He sometimes comes down to our village and causes a ruckus. I'd chase him out myself, but he's got a katana, so I don't wanna risk anything. Can someone lend us a hand?

How to Complete: In Chapter 5: Raging Valley, as you progress, you will reach a cave with green flames. Continuing inside, you will grapple to a pillar, wall and the edge. After that you will climb up the left wall. Here the left path leads to a dead end with a gourdy. Continue right after sliding under, you will see will see sort of a spiral down path with torii gate and green flames. You will be on a wooden bridge and see a chest right ahead after the bridge and torii gate. From that chest, turn right and you will see a small door. Open it and proceed following the path. This will lead to a second encounter with Oniwaka.

On Completion: Thanks for taking care of the troublemaker! I can finally get some sleep without keeping one eye open. From his drunken ramblings it seems like he got kicked out of Tokyo Sky City, but I don't understand why he took it out on us. All he had to do was ask for help...

Capture 8 Gourdies[]

  • Target Area: All Areas
  • Reward: 6000 NinjaCoin, Divine Life Elixir x2
  • Contractor: Professor U

Description: The more I study the gourdy oil, the more its possibilities captivate me. With more samples I could device a more efficient method of extraction and advance technology by decades or centuries, saving countless lives. I humbly request that you provide me with additional gourdy samples

How to Complete: You will need to find and capture 3 more Gourdies.

On Completion: I appreciate your ongoing assistance. Thanks to all my experimentation, I have a new idea of how to extract the oil. If there is another opportunity, perhaps we'll work together again.

Execute the man-eating daemons[]

Description: Monsters... Maneaters...! I saw them in the woods. Monsters with machetes, eating their human victims! I thank the stars I got away, but when I think back to it, it keeps me up at night... Please, kill them and let me get some sleep again...

How to Complete: In Chapter 6: Guiding Winds, as you progress, you will reach a longer wooden platform path with a Tsukumo shooting at you from the other end. The path will then collapse and you will need to slide, swing and glide to land on a platform. From this platform, instead of going right between the rocks, stand on its left edge and you will see a tree branch on which you can swing. Follow that path and it will lead to a dead end with a group of oni.

On Completion: You did it? You're a lifesaver! I'm not dreaming right now, am I? And those maneaters, hey were real, weren't they...? Hot damn, were they terrifying... I saw them with my own eyes, man...

Capture 12 Gourdies[]

Description: I have formulated a new method of gourdy oil extraction that could theoretically decuple the quantity harvested! I simply must move it to the testing phase. Please find additional gourdy samples, if not for me, then for the lives they will save.

How to Complete: You will need to find and capture 4 more Gourdies.

On Completion: I have received the gourdy samples, and I cannot thank you enough. This should allow me to harvest a great quantity of oil. The progress we made today will save the people of tomorrow.... Truly, I am grateful to you. I wonder, do all otherworldly creatures produce such oil? This demands further research...

Execute the otherworldly messengers[]

Description: The shape of a man, yet far from human. These beings aren't evil spirits--they're messengers from another dimension. Preemptive it may be, we must strike now, before their kind disrupts our peace.

How to Complete: In Chapter 8: Drowned District, as you progress, you will reach a disco room with a gate infinity spawning enemies. After that you will go down a spiral staircase. At the end, instead of following the tunnel on the right, look at left and you can see you can grapple to a point. Grapple and follow the path and it will lead to a group of Foltogres.

On Completion: The shape of a man, yet far from humans. Being from another dimension... that had no place here. The messengers are no more. I thank you, unknown savior. I thank you, mighty warrior.

Defeat 20 fiends[]

Description: Me 'n the boys use he reservoir as our hang out spot, but we saw a weird-ass monster the other day. My buddy said he's seen them all over Tokyo, but does this mean we're in trouble again? Are these because of the Dark Dragon? Help us deal with these things, I'll pay ya good!

How to Complete: You will need to defeat 20 fiends. They are commonly found in Drowned District, starting Chapter 8.

On Completion: You done showed those monsters what for! Hah! Much obliged. Now me 'n the boys don't need to find a new hangout spot. Look, I don't give a rat's ass what happens to the city, but there's less of them monsters roamin' about because of you... So I guess that makes you Tokyo's savior or something.

Find the antiquated currency in the Drowned District[]

Description: Coins minted by the old government are skyrocketing to the moon. Older money used good quality metal, and with supply so low, it makes sense demand is up. I've already got all the coins I can get my hands on, but I'm betting there's some buried out in the Drowned District. Someone, get me what you can find and I'll give you a chunk of what I make selling it.

How to Complete: In Chapter 8: Drowned District, you will eventually obtain the Pond Strider. Using it, you will reach a disco room with two portals in the corners that spawn enemies. After defeating them all, check the left corner from where you can and you will find the Antiquated Currency.

On Completion: Oh, I've hit the jackpot now! I knew it'd be a haul, but I didn't think it'd be this much! I'll be able to put food on the table for months! And I haven't forgotten about your share either. But you know, I was the one who tipped you off and did most of the work so... 10% for you! See ya 'round, partner!

Use Magatsuhi to defeat 15 Eltus fish fiends[]

  • Target Area: All Areas
  • Reward: Bloodflow Omamori x1
  • Contractor: An Extremely Wealthy Individual

Description: All we wanted was some well-deserved R&R in the reservoir, but it was full of flying fish things! They even ate one of my buddies! It makes me sick... I still can't get the image out of my mind. Smash those fish to paste, and Ill pay you!

How to Complete: You will need to defeat 20 Eltus fiends using Magatsuhi. They are commonly found in Drowned District, starting Chapter 8.

On Completion: Hook, line, sinker and SMASH, huh? You're useful, you know that? Now the nightmares'll stop, and I can go back to making bank. I've sent payment your way. No need to thank me. And given the extralegal nature of this contract, you're in no position to complain either.

Execute the enormous fiends[]

Description: I saw the D.D.O. fighting against some huge monsters! But in the middle of their fight, he monsters slipped into some weird gate thing. I don't wanna think about what they'd do if they came back, so can you give the D.D.O. a hand?

How to Complete: In Chapter 9: Realm of Silent Dead, you will go from the Underworld, to the Drowned District, to the Underworld again. After you are back to the Underworld, you will reach a Flying Bird Flip section. After it, you will use the Pond Strider and cross a large gap with a wall run and two swings, and will be back on the Pond Strider. Stick to the left wall, and you will see land ahead with some red lights on the edge. Jump down and head right. Continue following the path and it will lead to a dead end with some Melherc fiends.

On Completion: You dealt with those monsters? You're a real pro. But those D.D.O. were dead, huh? The D.D.O. are better fighters than folks like me, but even they couldn't stand against those monsters. Thanks for saving us, but the future is looking grim.

Find 3 beautiful minerals in the Drowned District[]

Description: Several years ago I cam into possession of a beautiful mineral sample, and I've been studying it ever since. I can find no mention of it in any literature however, so may studies have reached a standstill... I must know more. If you find another sample, please send it to me.

How to Complete: In Chapter 9: Realm of Silent Dead, you will go from the Underworld, to the Drowned District, to the Underworld again. After you are back to the Underworld, you will reach a Flying Bird Flip section. After it, you will use the Pond Strider and cross a large gap with a wall run and two swings, and will be back on the Pond Strider. Stick to the left wall, and you will see land ahead with some red lights on the edge.

    • Beautiful Mineral #1: Jump down and head right. The first Beautiful Mineral will be on this path.
    • Beautiful Mineral #2: Back at the land with the red lights on the edge, look forward and you will see new land with a gate that spawns enemies. Description: A miscreant is attacking civilians at random in the Drowned District with a cursed katana stolen from a D.D.O. facility. The culprit, believed to call himself "Oniwaka", fatally injured several D.D.O. soldiers following his heist and fled. He is dangerous and must be dealt with appropriately. Any who do will be rewarded.

How to Complete: In Chapter 9: Realm of Silent Dead, when you are back in Drowned District, you will go through a disco area and then reach your first Umi and Tyran shops. Facing the shops, turn right and follow the path. It will lead to a room where you will face Oniwaka again.

On Completion: The target has been eliminated. Unfortunately, due to his escape we were unable to retrieve the cursed blade he stole, so we will conduct our own search. You have fulfilled your end of the contract, so you will be sent your promised payment. Order in Tokyo must be maintained.

How to Complete: You will need to destroy 10 drones while riding on a rail using your shurikens. You will be able to complete some in Chapter 11, where you accept the mission, but you will have to replay older mission like Chapter 2 to get to 10. The drones are those that drop objects on the rail.

On Completion: You've taken care of those drones! They always seem to drop obstacles in the worst places, which gives us a hard time moving people and supplies. We'll still need to be careful, but this is a good enough dent to give us an opening. Makes me wonder... Are YOU the famous Dragon Hunter? Hah, fat chance!

Execute the D.D.O.'s special forces[]

Description: There are these weird D.D.O. assholes who kill people that get too close to eh Dragon's Maw. They even got my buddy.. I've never seen troops like that around Tokyo. Are they even D.D.O.? Please, get rid of them!

How to Complete: After using the first rail section, you will use the Flying Bird Flip two times and be on a rooftop with Umi and Tyran's shop and needing to jump on another rail. While ridding the rail, you will be forced to go to the far left (from 3 to 2 to 1), then after a speed boost, you will be forced to the far right (from 1 to 2, to 3, 4th rail) and again to the far left (from 4, to 3, to 2). While on this far left, there will be a wall on your left, which you need to use to jump over a gap on the rail. Right after you are back on the rail, immediately jump on the left rail (from 2 to 1). The rail will lead to a platform with some D.D.O. soldiers. After you defeat them, new D.D.O. soldiers will show up.

On Completion: Looks like you did it. Good job. One thing that keeps bugging me is that those soldiers are apparently defense specialists, but aren't WE the ones they're supposed to be defending!?... Not like it's your problem anyway. Thanks again for avenging my buddy.

Capture 15 Gourdies[]

Description: I have concocted a plan so flawless that energy concerns will be a matter of the past, ushering in a new golden age for humanity. But as you may suspect, yes, I require more gourdy samples for their oil. I implore you, capture the gourdies. Humanity depends upon it.

How to Complete: You will need to find and capture the last 3 Gourdies.

On Completion: Thank you. This should be enough oil to last for quite some time. Using the energy produced by this gourdy oil, I will pursue further study in interdimensional travel. And then, after capturing the gourdies and any other creatures that can produce similar substances... Oh, just thinking of the possibilities makes me tremble! Mark my words, I will make the world a better place! MWAHAHAHA!

Execute the elite D.D.O. squadron[]

Description: The D.D.O.'s most elite warriors are stationed in the Dragon's Maw. Their suits and equipment are top-of-the-line experimental stuff, practically unstoppable compared to their standard grade soldiers. If that equipment makes it to the mass production phase, no one will be able to stand against hem. Destroy them before that happens.

How to Complete: During Chapter 12: Dragon's Maw, you will encounter your first D.D.O. Heavy Infantry, who is guarding a door with a Flying Bird Flip behind it. Once on top, you will see some enemies rushing at you. After that instead of proceeding forward from the Flying Bird Flip, turn back and follow the path. You will use the Flying Bird Flip one more time and then ride a rail, which will lead to some Enhanced D.D.O. Officers.

On Completion: We've lost the signals of the elite soldiers. Both their equipment and skill are the best of the best, which means they can't be easily replaced. This is a huge blow to the D.D.O., so, whoever you are, know that I'm thankful for your efforts.

Find the classified document in the Dragon's Maw[]

Description: People are saying that the weather problems in Tokyo are a portent of the Dark Dragon's return... It's just one of the many reasons the public's faith in the D.D.O. is wavering. As for myself, I'm unsure whether I should continue investing in the D.D.O., and would like you to procure a document from the Dragon's Maw that can help me reach a decision. I will spare no expense.

How to Complete: During Chapter 12: Dragon's Maw, around the end, you will eventually reach a room that will turn red with the alarms running. In that same room, right of the door, you can find a chest with the Classified Document.

On Completion: Color me surprised, but your work was flawless. I like a man who can get the job done. I'll peruse the document and decide the appropriate course of action, in due time. Skill like yours deserves proper compensation, so I'm including a bonus with my payment.

Defeat 10 D.D.O. Heavy Infantry[]

Use Kage-Hiruko to destroy 3 D-0037 Vanguards[]

Description: I have received a classified report stating that the D.D.O. is in possession of missile pods. Although they currently have jurisdiction over Tokyo in place of the government, this is far more firepower than a civilian organization is entitled to. To help make your efforts harder to track, destroy their missile pods using a variety of weaponry.

How to Complete: Only possible on Chapter 12: Dragon's Maw. D-0037 Vanguards are a big stationary rocket launchers. You will naturally come across them on your path. The first will be at the end of a long corridor, with you having to hook from wall to wall to avoid its projectiles. You have to switch to the Kage-Hiruko and attack it, to destroy it. The second and third, are right after that section. You will have to avoid the projectiles while using the platforming to reach them. There are 3 more D-0037 Vanguards until the end of the chapter. All encounters with them are unmissible.

On Completion: Thank you for destroying the missile pods. I assure you, the government has not abandoned Tokyo for good. Arrangements are being made as we speak. Your ability is as impressive as another ninja I met some time ago... I suppose it would be wise to never underestimate your kind.

Execute the strange oni[]

Description: Do you remember Oniwaka? That jerk with a katana you took care of? He got away last time, but he's been picked up on Dragon's Maw security cameras... But he was off. He almost looked like he was possessed or something. Super creepy... Go put him down again, Yakumo!

How to Complete: During Chapter 12: Dragon's Maw, at on point, you will reach a room where the floor opens and Yakumo starts falling. This will start a traversal section with flying, wallriding, rail riding, etc. At the end, you will end up on a small section in front of a door wit some enemies. After you defeat them, don't go through the door, instead turn left and you will see some narrow path. Follow it and it will lead to Oniwaka.

On Completion: Thanks, Yakumo. Looks like you did it. We checked out the body and his vitals were all negative. Seeing him up close, it totally looked like he was possessed by something... No use worrying about it anymore, I guess. Just sent the payment your way.

How to Complete: During Chapter 15: Fanged Gate, you will go into the underworld. Soon after that you will have to run on water. Run straight ahead and you will be on an island. Continue ahead and slide under the door, now stick to the right and you will reach a land. Continue past it and you will be running on water again. Stick again to the right wall and you will jump over an obstacle, then reach land. Head to the left high land part to find some fiends to defeat.

On Completion: Well done, Master Ryu. Payment has been sent your way. The D.D.O. may be better equipped than typical soldiers, but they're still no match for the likes of fiends or daemons. I think our services will still be needed here for some time.

Execute the rampant monstrosities[]

How to Complete: During Chapter 16: Downpour, after you reach the Pleasure District, you will have to open a big wooden gate, and then kick down a door. Then you will reach a room with some enemies and a Tsukumo standing in front of another door you need to kick down. Instead, facing the door, turn around and you will see path to another room. At the end, there will be some boxes and behind them will be two blue containers on which you can use the Flying Bird Flip. Proceed up and you will have a choice to jump down or wallrun. Jump down and straight ahead you will find some daemons.

On Completion: Well done, Master Ryu. Payment has been sent your way. The resurrection of the Dark Dragon has brought with it many fiends... And for some reason, indigenous daemon activity is also on the rise. We must do what we can to minimize loss of human life.

You will then see a purple glow in the far distanc slightly to the right (this is basically above the shops). Go there and pick up the "Flower Kunai (Heaven)" item.

As soon as you open the door, look at its left corner, to see a purple glowing kunai, "Flower Kunai (Dragon)". This is also standing right in front of the Flying Bird Flip segment.

On Completion: You found the marker in the Dragon's Maw. Hm... Not bad. The Dragon's Maw is the D.D.O.'s eadquarters, which means it's got the toughest security of anywhere in Tokyo. I hd my doubts about you, but anyone who could slip into plac like that just might be worthy to lead the Raven Clan. You've earned your reward.

Execute the possessed swordsman[]

Description: Yakumo, I have an emergency mission for you. It's about that Oniwaka guy you killed. He's back again, but this time in Fuuhaku Sanctum. He's got a weird aura around him, and some people are describing him as "evil incarnate". It's got the attention ofthe whole clan, and you've been officially tasked with his execution. Watch yourself around him, Yakumo...

How to Complete: Unlocked in NewGame+. During Chapter 6: Guiding Winds, you will come to a section where slider down, then swing, and a bit after that you need to wallrun while a Tsukumo is shooting at you. After the Tsukumo, you will need to perform Flying Bird Flip to reach the top, instead look left of the Flying Bird Flip section and you will see some water. Use the Pond Strider to surf on the water and reach a small area with Oniwaka. Defeat him for one final time.

On Completion: The higher-ups back in the village looked into it, and they say the sword that Oniwaka stole has a history. It amplifies the evil in a person's heart until it eventually consumes them and takes complete control. Apparently, the anger and hatred he held when you killed him might have been enough to bring him back to life... The sword's destroyed now, though, so he should finally be gone for good. You can replay Chapter 18 and use Yakumo as there are several Van Gelfs during that stage. Alternatively you can combine it with the mission that requires you to kill Flare Shadows with specific weapon. Then in Chapter 2 head for where "Execute the otherworldly invaders" mission. Its in an area that was previously unacessable due to requiring gliding. The mission wil spawn a gate that infinitely spawns Flare Shadows and Van Gelfs, so you can do all your kills here. The enemies will spawn even if you have alraedy competed "Execute the otherworldly invaders".

Description: Hey, kid> All those new weapons you've gotten your hands on have their uses, but that box with the tools and those mechanical arms has some real potential. Looks like it could help out in all sorts of combat scenarios, but I wanna see if its firepower holds up. Use it to beat some of those big guys the D.D.O. has so I cn take notes on its combat capabilities.

How to Complete: Unlocked after completing "Defeat 100 fiends", so you will likely be doing in NewGame+/Chapter Select. You just need to defeat 3 Goliaths using the Kage-Hiruko. While they are a bit rare to find, you can find two of them in Chapter 12.

On Completion: Thanks, kid. I got a good idea o what that box of tricks is capable of. A lot of it comes down to your own skill, but those tools are pretty dan destructive. Actually, it gives me an idea for my own weapon design... And who knows, it could make me some real cash.
