Muramasa's Shop

Muramasa's Weapons and Tools is a shop run by a wizened old man named Muramasa. A renowed blacksmith, he has erected bronze statues of himself at various locations throughout the world. In addition to blacksmithing, the shop also sells a variety of items. He accepts Yellow Essence as payment.

It debuted in Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, first seen in Chapter 2. It makes a return in Ninja Gaiden II, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, and Ninja Gaiden II: Black, first appearing in Chapter 1. It also appears in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, but this time around the currency is Golden Scarabs. It also returns in Ninja Gaiden 4 when playing with Ryu with currency being NinjaCoins. It replaces DarkNest Terminal on stages, allowing you to purchase Items, access Missions Index, review battle techniques and practice in the training room.

• Buy items with Yellow Essence.

• In Ninja Gaiden II only, Enchanted Charms and Weapons not obtained in the chapter they're found in will appear in Muramasa's Shop the next chapter. This does not apply to the rewards from Tests of Valor, however.

• In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, and Ninja Gaiden II: Black, prices are discounted by 10% for each 10 Crystal Skulls obtained.

Blacksmith

• Temper and sharpen your Melee Weapons to level them up by spending Yellow Essence.

• In Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, weapons can only be upgraded to the next lever after reaching certain chapters. Furthermore, there are some weapons that cannot be upgraded at all.

• In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, you may only upgrade one melee weapon at a time at any Muramasa's Shop marked with a blue lantern free of charge.

• Only available in Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black.

• Bring him Golden Scarabs to receive special rewards. In Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, these are automatically given upon interacting with the shop.

• Speak with the store owner, Muramasa, and take advantage of the wisdom of his old age.
