Oniwaka is a secret boss that can be fought in Ninja Gaiden 4. He can be encountered five times, which each time becoming more powerful and fiendish.
Oniwaka is encountered through four Missions: "Execute the food thief" during Chapter 3: Phantom Pleasure Quarter, "Execute the troublemaker" during Chapter 5: Raging Valley, "Execute the miscreant" during Chapter 9: Realm of Silent Dead, "Execute the strange oni" during Chapter 12: Dragon's Maw, and finally "Execute the possessed swordsman" during Chapter 6: Guiding Winds' NewGame+.
Description[]
A young man living in Tokyo who turned to a life of crime after losing his family and home during the Dark Dragon Incident.
A fast runner and skilled pickpocket, he made a meager living as a mundane thief, but his notoriety quickly spread, ultimately resulting in a bounty on his head. Unable to fend off his relentless pursuer using his amateurish self-taught swordsmanship, he resorted to stealing the cursed blade "Chisato" in power-hungry desperation.
The curse of this blade amplifies the desires of its wielder, transforming them into raw power. In exchange, the blade gradually possess its host, compelling them to ravenously seek blood even after death. Overcome by his desire for power, Oniwaka met this very same fate, and was ultimately left a mindless husk.
The haunting tale of this unfortunate youth begs the question: when, if ever, did a path of redemption lay before him?

Oniwaka's family gets killed during the Dark Dragon Incident, caused by Achilles. In order to survive, he turns into stealing and eventually steals the cursed blade "Chisato".
Eventually he gets a bounty on his head, labelled as "food thief". Yakumo accepts the mission and manages to find Oniwaka. After a short encounter, Oniwaka realizes that Yakumo is far stronger and runs away.
Oniwaka then moves to Fuuhaku Sanctum and often causes ruckus in the nearby village. In his drunken ramblings as he complains he got kicked out of Tokyo. As he becomes too much of a troublemaker, the villagers put a bounty on him and Yakumo ends up accepting it again. He finds and defeats him again, causing Oniwaka to escape again.
Oniwaka now moves to the Drowned District, where he starts attacking civilians and D.D.O. soldiers randomly. As a new bounty is placed on him, Yakumo goes after him. Yakumo notices that Oniwaka has been getting stronger and more wicked looking. he manages to defeat him, but Oniwaka escapes once again.
Oniwaka later shows up on Dragon's Maw security cameras, where he appears like is being possessed. A new bounty is placed on him and Yakumo once again goes after him. This time however, Yakumo manages to kill him.
Because of the cursed sword, Oniwaka is revived. Having a completely wicked appearance, he heads into the Fuuhaku Sanctum. The sword has been amplifying his anger and hatred, causing him to become and look more evil. As he gets the attention of the locals, a new bounty is placed on him. Yakumo once again goes after him, however this time he manages to kill him once and for all.
