Ship Defense System is a Battleship Boss who appears in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. It is the defensive system on a CIA battleship on Sagami Bay. The system defenses get activated when Kenji and Kumori escape their confinement in the stage Steel Prison.

History

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

After collecting the three Crystals, Kenji and Kumori were caught by the CIA Agent. He brought them to a battleship in Sagami Bay. As Kenji and Kumori manage to escape the room they were kept, they go around trying to cause a distraction and opportunity for Muramasa to escape, who was also kept with them. Eventually they come across the Ship Defense System, but manage to avoid its attacks and neutralize it.

Abilities and Powers

• Small Turret: The small turrets track Kenji and shoot projectiles at him. As long as you move they are easy to avoid.
• Medium Turret: The medium turrets always shoot down a lighting bolt that upon hitting the ground it splits like a wave to the left and right.
• Big Turret: The big turrets also spawn with two pillars. They connect with each other conducting electricity and form a pentagonal shape.

The fight have several phases with each phase ending once all on screen turrets get destroyed. The first phase there are 2 small and 1 medium turrets. Second phase opens three small ones and two medium turrets. Third phase is the final one and it has two small and three big turrets.

On hard mode, the number of turrets is increased. The small ones become from 5 to 7, medium from 3 to 5, and big remain 3. First phase is 3 small and 2 medium turrets. Second phase has 2 small and 3 medium turrets. Final third phase has 2 small, 2 medium and 3 big turrets.

During the fight, there are also other enemies. Flying drones will come out and destroying them will provide a Hypercharge. The doors on the left and right will also open from time to time with shooting enemies coming out of them.
