The Art of the Crimson Lotus (紅蓮楓の術 Gurenfu no Jutsu?, lit. "Art of Crimson Maple") is a Ninpo Scroll in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, seen in Chapter 5: The Shrine-Maiden Battle. It also appears in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus and Ninja Gaiden II: Black.
It makes a return in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, used by Momiji in Ninja Trials.

Gesturing the characters “rin,” “byo,” “to,” “sha,” “kai,” “jin,”
“retsu,” “zai,” and “zen” (臨・兵・闘・者・皆・陣・列・在・前) in

- Cons:
- Leaves Momiji vulnerable to ranged attacks.
- Lasts for a relatively short time.
- Long Ninpo Bar.
- Does not restore much health when hitting enemies.
- Short range. (If Ninpo command is not used again during active period)
- The fireballs are relatively weak when launched.
Strategy[]
In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, this ninpo is nearly identical to the Art of the Inferno. Like the Art of the Inferno, the Art of the Crimson Lotus is best used in "bottle neck" areas, such as hallways and enclosed areas where it is hard for enemies to spread out and attack from different flanks.
In Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, the ninpo is nearly identical to the Art of the Flame Phoenix and the Art of the Fire Wheels.
Trivia[]
- Art of Crimson Lotus is Momiji's Break Blow in Dead or Alive 6.
- The characters 臨兵闘者皆陣列在前 is a phrase that represents the nine-cuts mudra, part of a Hindu prayer hand-posture, and is supposed to be an exorcism-purification spell.
- In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Momiji chants what seems to be "Don Patura Dun".
- In Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, this Ninpo's effect creates a large swirling fireball around Momiji, similar to Art of the Fire Wheels and Art of the Flame Phoenix.
