The Statue of Liberty (女神像 Joshinzō?, lit. "Statue of a Goddess")[1] is a boss in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 which appears in Story and Mission mode. It also appears in Ninja Gaiden II, but it is not a boss there.

Battles[]

The Statue of Liberty is faced in Chapter 4(NGS2) after the battle with Alexei. In Ninja Gaiden II the Chapter ends without this boss fight.

It is also found in 2 Team Missions: Warrior 02 and Ultimate Ninja 03. It is the boss of W02. In the second wave of UN03 there are 2 Statues of Liberty.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Arm Slam: The Statue of Liberty is able to slam the ground once or 3 times in a row. A devastating circular shock is unleashed with every slam. Its last slam will cause its arm to go up more slowly than usual.
  • Arm Swipe
  • Ground Lightning: The Statue of Liberty is able to summon lightning from the ground close to the player 1-3 times in a row.
  • Homing Lightning: The Statue of Liberty can summon lightning balls high up in the air. They follow the player.

  • The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbour, designed by Frederic Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886.
  • The Statue of Liberty was a candidate for the Eighth Wonder Of The World.
  • Ninja Gaiden isn't the only series where the Statue of Liberty was animated by supernatural forces. In the 1989 film Ghostbusters 2, to defeat the main villain the Statue was animated by the protagonists using paranormal mood slime and the song High and Higher to animate the Statue of Liberty which they controlled with an NES Advantage joystick controller, in order to inspire the people of New York in order to generate the positive energy necessary to break through the negative mood slime barrier covering the Manhattan Museum of Art where the villain based allowing the protagonists to enter and ultimately defeat the villain.
