The Tragic Duel is the prologue mission in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and part of Prologue: Legacy. The stage takes place on West Fuji Forest. During this mission, players control Jô Hayabusa.
Description[]
Jô Hayabusa is ambushed by deceitful rivals on his way to a fateful duel. Blades clash in the shadows as the confrontation turns into a fight for survival.

Crystal Skulls[]
- Crystal Skull: On the main path, little bit after starting the stage, the game will teach you how to drop down from a higher ground. The skull will be right there.
- Crystal Skull: After climbing up and reaching a checkpoint, the skull will be just a bit ahead on the main path, above a enemy with a straw hat.
- Crystal Skull: After reaching a large hole and coming out of it, you will reach a checkpoint. After that you will go down, once at the bottom, you will proceed to the right and the skull will be right above you on a platform.
Secret Ops[]
This stage does not contain any secret ops.
Challenges[]
- Use the ceiling to avoid spike damage
- Kill enemies of the specific type (6) (Dasher)
- Finish level without dying
