The Water Dragon is a boss in Ninja Gaiden II, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus.

Appearance

A blue, western style dragon with glowing red eyes more closely an elasmosaur.

Plot

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

After arriving to the catacombs beneath the Aqua Capital, Ryu Hayabusa encounters a massive room full of Ghost Fish. After defeating many, the Water Dragon coalesces from the many Ghost Fish and attacks Ryu. After a fierce battle, the dragon is defeated, his trashing causing pillars to collapse, allowing Ryu to continue on his way.

Abilities and powers

• Invisibility: The Water Dragon appears to appear from nowhere, coalescing from the many Ghost Fish around
• Homing Icicles: A power attack, sending many homing icicles toward it's opponents, forcing them to dodge by Water Running. In Sigma 2 this attack is nearly impossible to dodge.
• Summon Ghost Fish: The Water Dragon has the ability to summon Ghost Fish that attack en masse.
• Water Wave: The Water Dragon shakes his head from one side to another, summoning a wave of water in the direction his head moved.
• Water Blast: The Water Dragon screams and sends a blast of water directly in front of it.

Strategy

• In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, due to the modifications in the combat engine, the boss' difficulty is increased dramatically, making it almost impossible to dodge some of it's attacks. It is recommended that the player constantly charges an Ultimate Technique with the Enma's Fang to avoid both the homing icicles and the summoned Ghost Fish.
